How to fast travel in Super Mario RPG

Fast travelling in Super Mario RPG is incredibly easy, but it isn't unlocked from the very beginning. Instead, you only unlock it after you've met Mallow, one of your main companions in the game.

After adding Mallow to your team, you'll start heading towards Bandit's Way. Along that route you'll encounter Toad, who gives you a map.

Press the + button to open the main menu, where you can then select this map manually. Once browsing the map, you can fast travel to any major location you've visited before by hovering over it and pressing A. This tends to be for major landmarks and key areas to make traversal easy.

On top of that, you can use the fast travel map to see whether there are any shops at a specific location or not. That's done by pressing Y, to then show any shops that may be located at that fast travel point.
