All Super Mario Bros. Wonder coin types explained

As we mentioned earlier, there are two types of coins you can find in Super Mario Bros. Wonder.

Gold Coins

Gold Coins work the same as they always have in other Mario games, and can be exchanged in the shop for goodies. 100 Gold Coins will net you one extra life. In comparison, 20 Flower Coins will also give you one extra life.

Flower Coins

Flower Coins are the new hexagon-shaped purple currency introduced in Super Mario Bros. Wonder. There are three different types of Flower Coins.

  • Regular Flower Coins are spread across the map and can be collected relatively easily. Each of these is equal to a single Flower Coin.
  • Large Ten Flower Coins are equal to ten Flower Coins each. Each stage will have three of the Ten Flower Coins hidden throughout, and these can be tricky to get. These are highly valuable collectables, and we suggest revisiting stages to find them and all the Wonder Seeds.
  • Small Flower Coins are equal to 0.1 of a regular Flower Coin. These only appear when the Wonder Seed is triggered for certain stages.
