How you can travel back to your ship in Starfield
Once you’ve finished exploring a planet, you have different options within the game to fast travel to your spacecraft.
One of these ways is by opening up the “Surface Map”, where you’ll see your ship listed as a point of interest. From there, you can hit the “R” key on your keyboard if you’re playing on a PC device to be transported straight back to your ship. Alternately, if you’re enjoying this game on an Xbox console, simply press the “Y” button on your controller to get straight back to your ship.
Sounds easy enough, right?
Well, the aforementioned method is certainly a great way of returning to your ship within the game, but it’s not the only one, however.
You can also get back to your ship through the use of your scanner. So in this case, you’d pull out your scanner device and highlight the ship’s icon in the distance. After pinpointing its exact location on the scanner, you can use that gadget to subsequently fast-travel to your ship right away.
However, it’s important to note that sometimes it can be hard to see your ship’s whereabouts on the map – especially if you forget exactly where you are.
In such a case, you can navigate this challenge by simply tabbing into the map, pressing the “Show Me” prompt, and you'll see an instruction that allows you to return to your ship with immediate effect.
