'The Quest for Guybrush' is the second Tall Tale in the Sea of Thieves crossover with Monkey Island. It's the first time you can explore Melee Island beyond the town and Governor's mansion, introducing new tools like ziplines in the game, while completing the mysterious Three Legendary Trials.
No doubt you'll already be familiar with treasure hunting in Sea of Thieves. However, instead of the usual x-marks-the-spot map, you'll need to complete the Trial of Treasure-huntery by digging up three chests with only riddle-like, Monkey dance-themed clues as a guide.
While you can explore Melee Island how you like, it's best to begin the Trial of Treasure-huntery for a smoother Tall Tale walkthrough.
Starting the Trial of Treasure-huntery (Do the Monkey!)
To explore more of Melee Island and begin the Three Trials, you can refer to our Quest for Guybrush walkthrough for how to get started. If you've done that, you'll already have the Do the Monkey clues in your logbook, which you'll need to get the first chest.
Walking over Lookout Point, follow the path around and use the zipline to the left to reach the bottom of the cliff. In the middle of the long path below, you'll spot a ghostly memory walking down a forest path between two arched trees.
Follow the ghost, taking the right path, and head across the log. Turn left and cross the next log, taking the first left path to the camp. Follow the ghost in the direction of the lamps and to the yellow flowers, turning left to see it digging.
Dig up the spot to unearth the first Chest of Treasure-huntery. Open it to collect the next logbook clues, with a fun Monkey Island t-shirt treasure Easter Egg.
Before leaving, there's a memoir location on a rock to the left and a journal near the river on the right.
The Legendary Monkey Part One
Head right and drop into the river to quickly return to the forest arch where you started. Use the Part One pages to find the next chest by turning right and following the path past the corpse with knives and to the beach at the end of the left slope.
Dig by the fishing rod hook to get the next chest and pages.
The Legendary Monkey Part Two
Head back up the slope and turn left, following the path forward and round till you find a tree with a heart on it to the right.
Dig by the tree to get the third chest and final clue.
The Legendary Monkey Part Three
Continue forward and use the ziplines to go past Stan's Vessels and across the troll bridge.
Stand by the cart on the left and face southeast to see light through a tunnel. Head inside it and dig by the lamp to get the final Golden Chest and Trophy.
When you grab the trophy, Corina appears through a portal. Give her the trophy to complete the Trial of Treasure-huntery and reach a checkpoint.
