Saints Row 2022 co-op explained
From the very start of the game, you have the option to begin a co-op campaign. The entire game is designed to be played with friends and it shows in this choice. Once you click co-op campaign, you can then choose to host a campaign or join one. Generally, the friend who has the best connection should probably host as the experience will be a bit more steady.
This being said, you don't have to click the co-op campaign option from the main menu to play with your friends. Once you have booted up the game, you can just click the start button, then co-op. This will allow you to join or invite your friends. You can also go into the co-op settings option to allow friendly fire, open session privacy, and more.
Although there is only one central way to play with your friends, the way you do it is up to you. If you're looking for a more serious co-op sessions, turn off pranking and friendly fire and just get in there. If you want something as goofy as Saints Row, do the exact opposite.
Does Saints Row have crossplay?
No, Saints Row will not have cross play from launch. It will, however, have cross generation play. If you play on an Xbox Series X or S, you are able to play with your friends on Xbox One.
As of right now, there are no plans to implement cross platform play.
