How to get Personas
Previously, you could capture Personas. Instead, Persona 5 Tactica will award you random Personas and sub-Personas at the end of missions. Furthermore, each character can only equip one Persona at a time, including Joker. However, you can use sub-Personas to gain various buffs and abilities.
This is not the only major change. Elemental Weaknesses have been removed in favour of Elemental Ailments. Your attacks will inflict a type of debuff, depending on the element, rather than being weak or strong against another Persona. This means your Persona's stats are now more important than ever, as resisting enemy attacks isn't as ideal of an option.
So, how do we go about getting the best Personas?

The Velvet Room makes its return in Persona 5 Tactica, and it's where you want to go if you're looking to get the best Personas in any area. Fusion requires you to sacrifice two or more Personas, and they'll be fused together into a newer and usually much stronger one. However, this requires you to have fodder Persona available as well as access to lots of Personas in the compendium. Here are some tips for unlocking the best Personas in Persona 5 Tactica:
- Finish all the optional objectives in each Kingdom, as they let you get increased possibilities for drops. This also helps you fill out your compendium for even more recipes.
- Complete all the side quests in a chapter as this will unlock the ability to fuse together powerful Personas like Principality and Seth. These are the best Personas in each area and will allow you to stay ahead of the game.
- Equip Anubis when you get him. One of his skills, Keen-Eye, lets you get rare sub-personas after battles. Be on the lookout for Personas with the Keen-Eye skill.
- Just keep fusing high-level Personas whenever you get the option. Sub-Personas quickly get overshadowed since you're always getting new ones.
