How to make a shield in Palworld

If you haven't already, you'll need to make a shield at a crafting workbench before you can use it. The first shield you can make in Palworld is the Common Shield, which requires the following to craft:

  • 10 Paldium fragments
  • 20 wood
  • 10 fibre

Once you craft the Common Shield, it will automatically be equipped for your character. There are many stronger shields that you can create in Palworld, but you'll want to start by getting the Common Shield as fast as you can.

How to use a shield in Palworld

In Palworld, the shield doesn't work functionally as an actual shield but rather gives you the ability to block all incoming damage from enemy Pals for a limited period of time. Taking more damage will cause the shield to deplete faster, and will eventually break after sustaining damage.

To regain your shield's durability, you don't have to do anything except wait. Your shield will regenerate over time, and you won't have to consume any resources to maintain the shield's health.

Upgrading your shield will allow you to withstand more raw damage from stronger Pals before breaking, meaning you'll be able to protect yourself for longer spells in a prolonged fight.
