Expanding from the job system that debuted in Yakuza: Like a Dragon, Like a Dragon 8 introduces a wealth (although not infinite) of new jobs, with some familiar ones also returning.

Think of jobs as a typical class system in other RPGs, they all have their pros and cons, allowing you to experiment with each party member and see how to best build a roster that will let you explore the city of Honolulu, Hawaii and a few more locales while dishing out some serious damage.

All Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth jobs and how to unlock

There are a total of 27 jobs in Like a Dragon 8. 12 are character-specific jobs, nine male-exclusive jobs, and six female-exclusive jobs. The majority will be unlocked in Chapter 5 when you get access to Alo-Happy Tours, but some have specific requirements.

First, let's see the character-exclusive jobs and how to get them.

Unique jobs

These are each of the playable character's starting jobs with the only distinction being the game's protagonist, Ichiban Kasuga, who has a total of three exclusive jobs.

Ichiban Kasuga

As we've mentioned, Ichiban has access to three exclusive jobs:

• Freelancer: Focuses on physical damage using pro wrestling moves. This is his starting job
• Hero: Ichiban's signature job, being the most balanced of all, features good damage skills as well as several support spells that grant out HP and other buffs. You'll unlock it during Chapter 1
• Sujimancer: You can become essentially a Pokemon trainer with this job, extremely weak in terms of physical damage but you have the ability to use Sujimon to power up your magic attacks. It gets unlocked after you beat the first member of the Discreet Four. Check our guide for more details

Kazuma Kiryu

• Dragon of Dojima: Comes with little MP, but has amazing physical damage and access to Kiryu's three fighting styles, Brawler, Rush, and Beast. It's Kiryu's default job

Nanba

• Homeless Guy: Magic-focused class that comes with good MP and magic growths. It's his starting job

Eric Tomizawa

• Cabbie: A somewhat balanced class that trades having less HP for massive MP gains, strikes a decent balance of dealing physical and magic attacks. It's his starting job

Chitose Fujinomiya

• Heiress: A speedy class that trades high agility for less defence. It's her starting job

Koichi Adachi

• Detective: The class tank of the game. High HP, high defence to both magic and physical attacks, good damage output but little in terms of MP and agility. It's his starting job

Seonhee

• Assassin: A very powerful class with high agility and attack, decent magic attack, at the cost of low MP. It's her starting job

Saeko:

• Barmaid: Can both attack and debuff enemies, specialising in support spells. She has self-buff skills and can also cause status ailments

Joon-Gi Han

• Hitman: One of the most explosive jobs in the game, able to deal a ton of physical damage, being blunt, blade, or gun damage. It's his starting job

Tianyou Zhao

• Gangster: A very simple class that deals with physical damage but also sports spells that can apply different debuffs to characters. It's his starting job.

Male-only jobs

All male party members can use these jobs. Requirements to use vary from character to character. For instance, you require a level 50 Bond with Kiryu for him to use the Host job, however, Adachi gets access to it on level 40.

• Aquanaut: An all-rounder type of job that sacrifices HP for more MP, focuses only on blunt damage and is resistant to ice damage. Unlocks via story during Chapter 5, granting you access to Alo-Happy Tours.
• Pyrodancer: A glass cannon class. Deals a ton of blade damage and has good MP with some nice buff spells, very low resistance to physical and magic attacks, and resistance to fire-type damage however. Unlocked by doing the Fire Dancing Exhibition tour (requires Passion level 3 and costs $200)
• Action Star: Inspired by kung-fu masters of old, this class focuses on massive blunt and gun damage, with very little in the way of magic attacks. Resistant to blade damage. Unlocked by doing the Parasailing Experience tour (requires Charisma level 4 and costs $200)
• Samurai: Can deal massive amounts of blunt and gun damage while being highly resistant to physical attacks, downsides include low resistance to magic attacks and being a low-agility class. Resistant to blade damage. Unlocked by doing the Trolley Tour (requires Confidence level 5 and costs $1,600)
• Desperado: Another glass cannon type of class. Does amazing blunt, blade, and gun damage while also having good magic attack. It has low HP and low defence against both physical and magic attacks. Resistant to gun damage. Unlocked by doing the Water Gun Shootout tour (requires Style level 5 and costs $1,600)
• Host: A magic-based class with high resistance to magic attacks but very weak to physical ones. Has great MP and magic growths but weak physical attacks and HP ones. Resistant to ice damage. Unlocked during Chapter 8 for free.
• Breaker: A class that prioritises agility over damage despite having a ton of blunt damage abilities with secondary properties that can trigger buffs. It has low resistance to physical and most magic attacks, but it's resistant to electric ones. Unlocked in Chapter 8
• Chef: A cooking master that specialises in blunt and blade damage with a side of status ailments to opponents. Good magic and damage growths at the expense of bad defence. Resistant to fire. Unlocked during Chapter 8.
• Linebacker: At the time of writing, we don't have a ton of info on this job, but it looks to be a physical damage-based one. Unlocked by pre-ordering Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth.

Female-only jobs

These Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth jobs can be used by the three female playable characters.

• Housekeeper: A magic-based powerhouse. Very little in terms of physical damage but one of the best magic users in the game with high defence and decent MP. Resistant to ice damage. Unlocked by doing the Duty-Free Shopping tour (requires level 4 Kindness and costs $200)
• Geodancer: Has even better magic growth and physical damage than the Housekeeper job at the expense of considerably worse defence. Resistant to electricity. Unlocked by doing the Hula Exhibition tour (requires Passion level 1 and costs $200)
• Kunoichi: One of the most stylish classes in the game. Best-in-class when it comes to agility with great MP growth and decent physical and magic attack with the potential of dishing out great damage with the right buffs. Resistant to blade damage. Unlocked by doing the Yoga on the Shore tour (requires Intellect level 5 and costs $1,600)
• Idol: A support class with tons of spells to buff and heal allies at the cost of doing little damage. Resistant to electricity. Unlocked during Chapter 8
• Night Queen: Big physical damage output at the cost of low magic-based attacks. A tanky class with very little in the way of magic defence. Resistant to gun damage. Unlocked during Chapter 8.
• Tennis Ace: At the time of writing, we don't know much about this class, but we'll update once we get access to it. Unlocked by pre-ordering the game.
