The man with the hat is back. Indeed, after years of absence from our gaming screens, Indy is going to be riding one more time with a great exciting adventure. But many seem to be wondering, is Indiana Jones and the Great Circle first-person? Let's take a look and find out what is going on with that.

The game comes from MachineGames, the studio responsible for classics such as the series of Wolfenstein titles. They have definitely proven to be more than capable at developing a great action adventure.

But let's take our attention back to Indy, and find out if Indiana Jones and the Great Circle is actually first-person.

Is Indiana Jones and the Great Circle first-person?

From all accounts and the first trailers we've seen, I think we can definitely conclude that Indiana Jones and the Great Circle is going to be a first-person action adventure game.

That might come as a surprise, considering that we're not just playing a no-name hero from a random game, but one of the most famous movie characters of all time.

Jerk Gustafsson, the game director, actually described it as “you aren’t just playing as Indy — you are Indiana Jones. You will see through his eyes and experience a journey that we hope lives up to the proud legacy of Indiana Jones."

Indeed, it looks like that is the direction the studio is heading towards, then again their Wolfenstein series was also exactly the same design. But no worries, the game won't entirely be in first person. The studio has confirmed that - again much like their previous games - cutscenes will see us following Indiana in third person and they will be quite more cinematic than the main action gameplay.

Of course, it might be a matter of taste. You might prefer your action adventure game to simply be in third person, like the classic Tomb Raider. But also, for others, first person is a matter of accessibility. Despite some adjustments, there are players who just can't handle the motion sickness of a first-person design.

We will see how MachineGames will handle this one. In the meantime, you can also check out our guides on where the story takes place.
