The end of Chapter 6 in Granblue Fantasy Relink will bring you face to face with the colossal giant, Excavallion. Excavallion is the largest boss in Granblue Fantasy Relink and facing this behemoth in the desert is no easy task. It can flatten your entire team in a matter of seconds and it can be confusing to figure out how to directly damage it.

How to defeat Ganblue Fantasy Relink Excavallion

Break reactors inside the legs

The first phase requires you to make your way inside the legs. There is no direct way in so you need to break the outer walls of one of the legs to make your way inside. Excavallion will periodically eject you with steam so it might take multiple tries. Be sure to use the wind magic in the arena to boost yourself to the leg. Focus on one leg at a time.

Wait for airships to drop

After you've taken down one leg, Excavallion will be incredibly protective of its other leg if you try to approach it. Plus it will unleash a blast that covers a massive radius and will kill you if you remain too close. At this point, wait a bit and let a cutscene play where the airships drop across the battlefield.

Shoot at reactor cores on the body

Now we have the most confusing part of the battle as the game sort of expects you to figure this out on your own. You need to make use of the many cannons littered across the desert and use them to shoot the glowing red cores on Excavallion's upper body. Excavallion will attack the cannons and temporarily put them out of commission. So be careful and be ready to hop from cannon to cannon.

Climb up Excavallion

Once you damage enough reactors, Excavallion will drop to its knees. At this point, you need to start climbing up its body starting from the legs. Make your way across the platforms up to the top. Once you reach the reactor up top, it will launch you into the air and you need to play through a short sliding section.

Break shield pillars

We're almost at the end. Excavallion will protect its main core by erecting several pillars around it. Three of these pillars will have a glowing orange light that shields the main core. Break these three pillars every time Excavallion shields itself.

Damage the main core to defeat Excavallion

Now all you need to do is beat down the main core. During this, Excavallion will bring up the shields once more and also perform an attack that has two lasers rotate in the arena. Watch out for the lasers as they can go both high and low. Keep up at it and you'll have Excavallion defeated in no time!
