Fortnite update 29.01 patch notes
Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 2 brought an Ancient Greek Mythology theme to the game and patch 29.01 looks to expand on that. Here’s what the update will bring.
The Return of Midas
Midas has escaped his prison and plans on challenging the gods to save reality. Players can encounter Midas on the island as an NPC boss.
Ascendant Midas will be a skin in the Item Shop but no exact date for this has been given yet.
New and Unvaulted weapons
The Chains of Hades, Shield Bubble Jr., and Drum Gun have made it to the island. The Drum Gun has a mythic gold variant that drops after defeating Midas.
The Floor is Lava LTM
Midas’ Underworld breakout has had a huge impact on the Fortnite island. The cursed NPC enchanted some molten rock during his escape which now comes to us in the form of the Floor is Lava LTM.
When players come into contact with the lava during the LTM, their weapons will turn gold for the remainder of the match.
