Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 1 is about to come to an end and we're about to head into the next chapter. Chapter transitions are usually straightforward, but we've received some truly awe-inspiring moments from Fortnite in the past. This time it seems Epic Games will finally treat us to a Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 2 live event.

Fortnite's last mid-season mini live event took place almost three years ago, so it's exciting to see live events make a return. The event itself seems to have a lot of buildup and tension to it as well. With that said, let's go over everything we know about the Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 2 live event.

Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 2 live event release date

The Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 2 live event will start at Saturday, 2 March, 2024, at around 1 PM ET / 10 AM PT / 6 PM GMT. Earlier leaks suggested that that it was going to happen on February 29 but it seems to have been delayed.

However, these predicitons are still based on leaks and calculations from dataminers. There are a total of five different cracks that need to be filled with lava before the event kicks off; more on these ahead.

Through various leaks from reliable Fortnite data miners and leakers such as iFireMonkey on X, the Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 2 will likely have a Greek Mythology theme. We're likely to see iconic Greek Gods such as Zeus, Ares, and Athena make their appearance in Fortnite. This might also open the door for video game crossovers or the return of Kratos from God of War to Fortnite.

In the buildup leading to the Chapter 5 Season 2 live event, tremors will periodically occur across Fortnite island. These tremors will result in fissures forming in specific areas of the island. There will reportedly be several more earthquakes before the final one releases the Titan's Hand that kicks off the live event.

Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 2 live event details

Once the Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 2 live event kicks off, the hand of the Titan will emerge from the pits of lava. The hand will hold Pandora's Box wrapped in chains. All players on the server will have to shoot down the box by breaking the chains. Freeing the box from its chains might take a bit as it'll have a ridiculously high HP.

Once the box is freed from its chains, it will open and unleash a blazing vortex of flames from within. This vortex will suck in all the players on the server during the live event and kick off Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 2. We don't know what happens once players enter the vortex yet.
