What is in the FIFA 23 Ted Lasso crossover?

The FIFA 23 Ted Lasso crossover consists of content drops linked to the show across various in-game modes. They're all themed around the fictional team of AFC Richmond and its players and, of course, the iconic coach who spurs them all on.

Is Ted Lasso a manager in FIFA 23?

Chief of them all is the ability to select Ted Lasso as a manager in Career Mode.

Fully face-scanned with Jason Sudeikis' likeness, you can select him either to manage AFC Richmond in the mode, or as the coach of any other team you choose to take on.

Alongside that, you can create your own manager to lead AFC Richmond to glory, or use any of the licensed real-life gaffers in the game.

What modes is AFC Richmond in? - FIFA 23 Ted Lasso collab

AFC Richmond will also be accessible in more than just Career Mode. You'll be able to use the fictional squad in Kick Off, Online Friendlies, and Online Seasons as well.

They can be found in the Rest of the World section, with their roster including characters from the show like Roy Kent, Jamie Tartt, Sam Obisanya, and Dani Rojas. That's alongside a faithful recreation of Richmond's stadium, Nelson Road, which you can also select in Pro Clubs.

All of that aforementioned content will simply be waiting for you in FIFA 23. You won't need to purchase any DLC or FIFA Points to unlock them, as they seem to be organically included in the game's vast database of stadiums, players, clubs, and more.

However, we don't yet know whether these features will appear in FIFA 23 at launch, or arrive slightly later down the line. The game releases on September 27, so there isn't too long to wait until we know.

Is AFC Richmond in FIFA 23 Ultimate Team?

Sadly, players from AFC Richmond, including Brett Goldstein's Roy Kent, won't appear in the FIFA 23 Ultimate Team database. However, the good news is that plenty of other items linked to Ted Lasso are present.

Crucially, you'll be able to use Ted Lasso or Coach Beard as managers for your Ultimate Team. On top of that, AFC Richmond kits are in the mode alongside tifos, banners, badges, and flags synonymous with the series.

To unlock these, EA Sports will add special objectives with tasks that net you those rewards for completing them. We don't know what the requirements will be yet, but fans of the show will no doubt want to grind them out.
