During the Saint of the Slums quest in Dragon’s Dogma 2, you have to gather evidence on The Gracious Hand abbess.

She’s been at the centre of controversy throughout the quest and it seems as though you finally have enough evidence to convict her during the final mission. However, your task is to apprehend the abess in Dragon’s Dogma 2, which can be tricky to do.

If you talk to the abess after you get the task to apprehend her, nothing will happen. She’ll carry on about her day as if nothing has happened and you won’t be able to complete the mission or the Saint of the Slums quest. Fortunately, we know exactly what to do to apprehend the abbess, so follow the steps below to finish up things at The Gracious Hand in Dragon's Dogma 2.

How to apprehend The Gracious Hand abbess in Dragon’s Dogma 2

First and foremost, you need to ensure you have all of the possible evidence against the abbess before you can make a citizen’s arrest. This includes scouring through the basement sick room a couple of times, conferring with the patients at and around The Gracious Hand, and following the abbess at night to her mysterious meeting.

Once you have enough evidence, your journal will update to tell you to “apprehend the abbess,” but does not explain how to do so. When you receive this task, the abbess can be found somewhere around The Gracious Hand. For me, she was standing outside the basement sick room, guarding you from going inside.

However, she could be in a different location depending on the time of day, so we suggest checking all around the area if she's not in the basement. She could be upstairs, outside the hospital, or perhaps waiting at her nightly meeting point.

As we mentioned before, though, merely speaking to the abbess does nothing, as you can’t apprehend her that way. Instead, you need to get close to the abbess, press the “Grab” button (R2/RT), and then your character will physically apprehend the NPC.

You’ll get on top of her, put her hands behind her back, and your screen will fade to black. If you see this, then you've done everything correctly. If your screen doesn't fade, then you might need to gather more evidence on the abbess before you can make an arrest.

Dragon's Dogma 2 Saint of the Slums quest rewards

After this scene plays out, you’ll find yourself at the Gaol in the Vernworth Castle Grounds. The abess has been placed in a jail cell, awaiting trial based on the evidence you gathered throughout the quest. Once you speak to the Gaol guard, the Saint of the Slums quest will be complete in DD2. You’ll receive 1,600 XP and 11,000 gold for your efforts in completing the side quest.

You'll most likely be moving on to the Checkpoint Rest Town after finishing up this quest in Vernworth, so check out our previous guide on the Prey of the Pack quest in DD2 once you reach that location.
