How to play Disney Lorcana: TCG

Disney Lorcana: TCG is played in turns. Each turn consists of three phases: draw phase, main phase and end phase.

Draw phase

In this phase, you draw one card from your deck and add it to your hand. If you have no cards left in your deck, you lose the game.

Main phase

In this phase, you can play one card from your hand per turn, either as a character, an item, an action or an ink.

Character cards

Character cards are the main cards you use to quest and fight. They have a strength value, a willpower value, a lore value, and an ability.

To play a character card from your hand, you need to pay its cost by exerting (turning sideways) that many ink cards from your inkwell area. Then, you place the character card face up in your quest area.

You can only have up to five character cards in your quest area at any time. If you want to play a new character card when you already have five characters in your quest area, you need to discard one of them first.

Item cards

Item cards are one of the three main card types in Disney Lorcana: TCG, along with characters and actions. Item cards remain on the table and can be used multiple times throughout the game. They can provide various benefits to the player, such as increasing lore or providing additional abilities.

To play an item card, a player must have enough lore to pay its cost and play it from their hand. Once played, an item card remains on the table and can be used by the player during their turn. Players can include item cards in their deck during the deck construction phase, with no more than four copies of any one card allowed.

Action cards

Action cards are one-time-use cards that activate instantly when played, triggering any effects as per the text on the card. Once an action card has been used, it goes into the player's discard pile face-up.

The action cards a player chooses to include in their deck will depend on their overall strategy and the character and item cards they have.

Ink cards

Ink cards are uniquely different from other card types in Disney Lorcana: TCG, as they are used to pay for the cost of playing other cards. Ink cards are kept face-down on the table, and their value is only revealed when they are used to pay for a card.
