For some context, the humble length of rope is commonly used in the original tabletop game of Dungeons and Dragons. As Baldur's Gate 3 is based on the Dungeons and Dragons game, it's possible that this humble item can be used to climb over obstacles, swing over them, and restrain people. However, fans of the franchise are hoping that rope could be integrated into the game as an ingredient for basic crafting, too. This could include setting up traps or even creating weapons such as a bow or crossbow.

It should be noted that rope is a very versatile item, so there are several possibilities on how this will be integrated into the game's mechanics. The developers need to make sure that rope isn't completely useless and not too overpowered in how it can be used. With that in mind, players can only hope this item will provide some actual use to them. What we can only do now is wait for more information to come in on the use of rope when Baldur's Gate 3 releases. We'll update this article once that happens.
