How to fix your companion not following

Your companions always follow your character or whoever you currently control. However, there is a feature that allows you to separate your group members. Perhaps you accidentally activated this function and now your party is separated.

So firstly, you can check if this is the case by looking at the left side of the screen. Just check the position of the portraits of your party members. If they are all separated, then it means that your companions won't follow you. In order to fix this, you just need to drag the portraits to each other to form the group again. You'll be able to see this is successful because when you drag and drop the avatar, there'll be a chain animation to show that they're connected to the party.

Also, party members should group up after you use the fast travel feature. So, you can try this method and fix the problem of them not following you.

You also have a chance to run into a bug that causes problems with the AI of your companions. In this case, you will need to wait for a hotfix or try to load a save where this bug is not triggered.
