Primal Lord Location and Rewards
For a bit of background, players can fight the most recent Primal Lord, the Alpha Bear, three times a day. The Primal Lord can be found within Dark Forest 5 which is unlocked during the Merlin's "Ward" quest located around Holistone. Be sure to have a high enough level before getting into battle.
With each fight, players will obtain some personal rewards based on the total amount of damage done to the Primal Lord. This includes Gold, Essence, Experience, and chests.
Other incentives that come with defeating the Primal Lord include getting the "Bear Hunter" title for being one of the top 20 players who have brought the most damage to the Primal Lord. Additionally, the entire server from the event will receive Diamonds, Invite Letters, A-Level Soulstones, and more equipment chests.
Best AFK Journey Primal Lord Teams
In terms of the best teams to use during the Primal Lord event against the Alpha Bear, you must be strategic with your team picks. It's highly suggested to use characters who have ascended the most. But an ideal strategy is to use characters who can tank and do long-range damage. We've prepared some sample team compositions that you can try out in-game.
AFK Journey Primal Lord Team Composition
Some of the crucial character roles that you must consider in creating your team should be Tanks and DPS. Tank characters such as Thoran, Kruger, and Reinier can debuff the Primal Lord with their abilities. While main DPS characters like Odie, Marilee, and Cecia can give full-blown attacks and still render themselves self-sufficient in a battle.
Besides those priorities, you should still consider balancing out your team in other roles by having characters in Healing and Support. Smokey & Meerky is a standard choice in terms of being the main healer. Despite the Alpha Bear's skills in taking down heals, it's still good to have a decent healer on the team.
You can also consider having characters that use shields in their abilities. Koko is also a good pick to decrease overall team damage, allowing you to stay longer on the battlefield.

AFK Journey Primal Lord attacks
The Primal Lord is not an easy boss to deal with which is why it requires several players for it to be defeated. The boss has massive health and various attacks and abilities that it will throw at you. Here's what we know about the boss' attacks.
Ultimate
- The Alpha Bear's ultimate skill allows it to mobilise a swarm of bee-like creatures. These deal around 80% of the damage to opponents covered in honey for around 3 seconds. Another thing to look out for from this skill of the Alpha Bear is when all your character heroes are covered in honey, a larger swarm is summoned and can deal up to 250% of damage during the battle.
Skill One
- For the Alpha Bear's first skill, it can throw honey at an enemy hero, dealing major damage of around 100%. Moreover, if your marked character tries to heal, it won't be able to heal effectively as healing is reduced by around 80%. Additionally, the effects of that don't simply wear off.
Skill Two
- Next, this skill also throws honey across nearby area tiles and enemies for around 50% of the damage. If there aren't any characters in the splash zone of this skill, the Alpha Bear will break down the ground, producing major damage of 400% to all characters.
Skill Three
- Last but not least, this skill allows the Alpha Bear to generate and pull a Terraball towards a character target. If any characters are on the Terraball's path, around 100% damage is dealt.
Overall, you should balance the use of tank characters who can deal the most damage with defense through healing and support characters. Taking down the Alpha Bear will take a while and should be done strategically. There's a possibility that your characters can be easily wiped out if you don't have the proper tank and support.
