Genshin Impact - Everything We Know So Far About Ayaka

Genshin Impact continues to be one of the more popular free-to-play games out there, thanks to its great character designs and solid gameplay, with the recent release of the 1.6 update fans are starting to wonder what comes next.

Genshin Impact’s 1.7 Update is the next content batch to arrive in the next month, and with it, a new region called Inazuma will be showcased, with new challenges, story quests, and even new characters. One of those characters is the new 5-Star Cryo sword user Ayaka, which shows great potential as Cryo DPS based on recent leaks.

Who is Ayaka? - Character Overview, Skills, and Constellations

The princess of the Kamisato House, Ayaka, is a Cryo sword user that was playable during the first Closed Beta Test in July 2019. Daughter of the Yashiro Commission's Kamisato Clan from Inazuma, she works in tandem with her elder brother and the current head of the clan, Kamisato Ayato.

The siblings divided themselves different responsibilities, with Ayato in charge of government affairs while Ayaka watches over the clan's internal and external affairs. She is a perfectionist with an earnest personality and people are often moved by her dedication, and those who are close to her gave her the honorary title of “Shirasagi Himegimi”.

Note: Some of the names for the following Attacks, Skills, Constellations, and Burst Abilities are temporary, literal translations from the leaks. The official translation may differ.

Normal Attack - Kamisato Art: Naname

Normal Attack
Perform up to 5 rapid strikes.

Charged Attack
Consumes a certain amount of Stamina to unleash a continuous stream of sword ki.

Plunging Attack
Descends from mid-air to strike the ground below, damaging enemies along the path and dealing AoE damage upon landing.

Elemental Skill - Kamisato Art: Hyouka

Ayaka emits ice around herself and shortly afterward, launches nearby opponents and deals Cryo damage.

Elemental Burst - Kamisato Art: Soumetsu

Ayaka gathers frost with her fan and sword, creating Bladestorms that continuously advance forward.

Bladestorm
Deals Cryo damage over time to all enemies in its path.
After the damage over time has ended, the created Bladestorm will burst, dealing Cryo damage to all enemies in a bigger radius.

Alternate Sprint - Kamisato Art: Senho
Ayaka consumes Stamina to hide within a swift flow of sleet that moves as she moves.
In Senho form, she moves at high speed on the water. When she reappears, the following effects are produced:

• Inflicts Cold on nearby opponents.
• Cold congeals along Ayaka's blade, converting her Attack damage into Cryo damage for a brief period.

Constellation - Grus Nivis

Sosai Sumizome Sakura
When Ayaka's normal attacks deal cryo damage to enemies, there is a 50% chance for the cooldown of Ayaka's Kamisato Art: Hyouka by 0.3 seconds. This effect can occur up to once every 0.1 seconds.
Ai Suigetsu
Ayaka's Kamisato Art: Soumetsu will release two smaller Bladestorms, each dealing 20% of the original Bladestorm's damage.
Hanano Nishikie Kamifubuki
Increase the level of Kamisato Art: Soumetsu by 3, up to a maximum level of 15.
Eiki Ryuhan
Enemies damaged by the Bladestorms from Kamisato Art: Soumetsu will have -30% Defense for 6 seconds.
Hanani Kumo Kaneni Irutsuki
Increase the level of Kamisato Art: Hyouka by 3, up to a maximum level of 15.
Mie Yuki no Seki no To
Ayaka's damage increase by 10% within 3 seconds of her dealing critical Cryo damage. This effect can proc once every 0.1 seconds and can stack 5 times.

Ayaka Release Date

While there isn’t any release date confirmed, it seems like we’ll see Ayaka in Genshin Impact 1.7. Only time will tell but considering how she already was officially revealed, chances are that we’ll see Ayaka in the game sooner or later.
