Gears Of War 3 PS3 Prototype Has Leaked

Gears of War 3's prototype PS3 version has been leaked online for anyone to download.

The 2011 release, which was an Xbox 360 exclusive, was allegedly ported to Sony's third console so that developer Epic Games could test Unreal Engine 3 development on the system. The game was never intended for release on the platform.

Gears Of War 3 PS3 Prototype Has Leaked

The build was shared by Twitter user @PixelButts, on the tenth anniversary of Epic's internal development of the project.

Last year, a video was uploaded showing an almost complete playthrough of the game.

At the time Epic's statement explained to Kotaku that "This footage is a byproduct of Epic’s internal Unreal Engine 3 testing process, which utilised both Gears and Unreal Tournament, and was never part of any actual product work for PlayStation 3."

If you're looking to download the build, you may be disappointed to know that the game will only run on debug PlayStation 3 consoles, not retail units.
