Gears Tactics developer Splash Damage revealed they are currently developing a new sci-fi game through a post on their official website. Whether it's Gears related or not, the team wouldn't say just yet, though they did express interest in non-Gears projects.
The statement reads:
"2021 is Splash Damage’s 20th year making games and while we’ve loved spending the past few weeks looking back, you’re probably dying to know what we’re working on right now…
We’re thrilled to announce that one of our current projects is a brand new game, set in an original sci-fi universe."
Gear Tactics Developer Splash Damage Teases New Project
Splash Damage said they're interested in creating something outside of their established IPs such as Wolfenstein, Gears of War, and Halo. In conjunction with the game news, they announced various job openings for different positions working on the project - whatever it ends up being.

Whether this new title is one of the many unannounced projects in development for Xbox or if it's something else entirely, we'll just have to wait and see.
