Warzone players claim PPSH meta is "garbage"

Thanks to regular doses of weapon balancing from Raven Software, the Warzone meta continues to change on a regular basis. With so many weapons receiving a variety of buffs and nerfs, certain guns begin to dominate matches.

With Season 5 well underway and as players continue to uncover new guns to gain the upper hand over the opposition, the PPSH submachine gun (SMG) from Call of Duty Vanguard is the latest gun to make an unwanted impact.

The immense power along with its lack of recoil is resulting in some players claiming that the current meta is “garbage” due to the lack of other weapons that can compete with the SMG.

The PPSH is ruining Warzone

Vanguard’s PPSH often features amongst the best warzone guns but has never made such a significant impact thanks to regular weapon balancing.

Reddit user “capt_fartface” says the dominance of the weapon has turned the meta into “complete garbage” citing numerous reasons why the SMG needs a nerf.

“Super fast time to kill (TTK) even with 300hp and almost no recoil or flinch. I’m getting melted, almost no way to fire back or move into cover,” says the frustrated player.

While others agree with the statement, one player says the advantages aren’t as powerful as the captain suggests. “TTK is slightly faster. Truth is the arma, blixen and Marco are still about as good,” implying there are plenty of ways to counter the PPSH in the heat of battle.

This isn’t the first case of a single weapon dominating the Warzone meta. During the Verdansk era, the DMR 14 tactical rifle featured in the loadouts of players for several months before the developer intervened with a heavy nerf that resulted in the weapon never returning to the top spot.

With Season 5 Reloaded a few weeks away, there’s a high chance Raven Software will implement some kind of nerf to Vanguard’s PPSH to stop the domination once and for all. In the meantime, make the most of it to excel in close-quarters action!
