Selecting a strong weapon to use before dropping into a Warzone 2 match is a hugely important decision to make. Thanks to Infinity Ward and Raven Software regularly applying doses of weapon balancing to spice up the meta, finding a gun that makes an impact can prove tricky.
With Season Two Reloaded in its early stages, another dose of buffs and nerfs is bound to shake up the arsenal. Despite changes likely affecting the most popular weapons, there are some that will fly under the radar.
According to one Warzone 2 aficionado, there’s a heavily underrated rifle that’s superior to the current selection featuring in the majority of loadouts in Al Mazrah and Ashika Island.
The next best Warzone 2 gun?
As part of a recent video, Call of Duty YouTuber WhosImmortal claims the weapon that has a huge chance of slotting into the meta is the EBR-14 marksman rifle. “I think the best choice here is the EBR. It’s a consistent two to four-shot kill.”
The content creator reveals he’s been a fan of the EBR-14 since the launch of Warzone 2 despite WZRanked uncovering it has a pick rate of 0.3%. “Overall, it’s a reliable gun but still super competitive,” says WhosImmortal.
This wouldn’t be the first time Warzone 2 fans have seen a semi-automatic rifle dominating matches. For the majority of Verdansk’s Cold War era, the DMR-14 from Black Ops Cold War shredded in almost every situation, much to the annoyance of fans. Will the EBR-14 usurp the RPK and Fennec 45 at the top of the mountain? We’ll have to wait and see.

The discovery of a hugely underrated weapon is bound to cause a spike in popularity and if the more popular weapons receive hefty downgrades, there’s always a chance of the EBR popping up in more loadouts.
