Warzone 2 has a wide range of playlists for lone wolves or squads looking to drop into Al Mazrah and Ashika Island. Thanks to regular playlist updates from Raven Software and Infinity Ward, new modes often appear to inject a breath of fresh air into Call of Duty’s battle royale.

With attention slowly turning to the Season 3 Reloaded update, players are currently mastering a new assault rifle dominating the meta following the ISO Hemlock nerf while attempting to avoid a bug causing loadouts to reset once a match is completed.

Among the issues, the most recent update has bought back solos but there’s a catch much to the frustration of players.

Warzone 2 solos return in favour of duos

Instead of having options for solos, duos, trios, and quads, the developers behind Warzone 2 have decided to remove duos from the current rotation leaving pairs of players without any mode to play.

The reason behind the change remains a complete mystery leaving several members of the community frustrated. “Next week, they’ll add duos at the cost of Trios. Pathetic,” writes one fan.

Backlash following an unnecessary playlist change is nothing new in the world of Warzone 2. In recent weeks, decisions to remove solos were met with widespread fury until developers decided to add them back to ease the frustration.

Prior to Warzone, Call of Duty’s Blackout never experienced such issues and always had four options to choose from depending on squad size. “Why did we ever treat Blackout too harshly?” questions one Blackout fan. It’s safe to say that Treyarch’s take on battle royale may be superior to the current offering.

There’s no sign of duos making a return anytime soon but with playlist updates happening on a weekly basis, it might be back sooner than many think. In the meantime, there are still plenty of playlists to get a Warzone 2 fix.
