The launch of Warzone 2 is right around the corner. The next chapter for Call of Duty’s battle royale will feature a brand-new map and a new weapon arsenal to master in addition to several features many will find familiar.

Although there’s plenty of focus on the new game and the arrival of AI, leaks surrounding its future are already emerging and it appears title integration is set to continue.

According to a leak, Al Mazrah will be replaced by a brand-new map in 2024, coinciding with the next Call of Duty release.

A new Warzone 2 map in 2024

According to notable leaker @TheGhostOfHope, Black Ops developer Treyarch will lead the development of the map set to release in the second year of the Warzone 2 cycle. Rather than functioning as a standalone title, the battle royale will receive new content when a new title launches.

Alongside Treyarch, the leak says “support studios” will assist with the development of the map meaning Raven Software could lend a hand once again. Other than the lead developer, very little is known about the Warzone 2 2024 map but there’s a high chance of Treyarch including several familiar points of interest from the Black Ops universe.

As always, it’s important to take leaks with a pinch of salt and with a few years until the rumoured launch of the map, a lot can change. However, Hope does possess an impressive track record when it comes to correctly revealing information.

The prospect of a Treyarch-designed Warzone map is an exciting one. Many players reminisce over the Blackout map and the chance of another map featuring plenty of iconic multiplayer maps and new areas to explore is one the community will look forward to. However, if Al Mazrah proves popular, will fans want a new map in 2024? Only time will tell.
