Since Twitch announced that it would be changing its rules surrounding gambling last month, a number of creators have been open in declaring their opposition to the move.

One of the most outspoken of these streamers has been Tyler ‘Trainwreckstv’ Niknam, who expressed his courage of the changes at the time and has continued to gamble on stream since the announcement.

However, after recently causing some controversy by claiming that he’s made around $360 million from promoting gambling, Niknam is now seemingly suggesting that he plans to start organising a new streaming platform.

What do you think of Trainwreckstv’s plan?

Taking to Twitter, Niknam said: “I'm going to create a platform or team up with one and instead of only contracting large creators, I want to primarily contract small (to) mid-size creators.”

He also claimed of these creators: “Current platforms deem you irrelevant, but you are the backbone of the entire industry, and you deserve at least a little security.”

In response to one Twitter user replying to the tweet and asking how Niknam planned to create a large enough audience for the new platform, the streamer referred to himself as: “the actual black sheep of Twitch” and added: “(the) chance for failure is high, but that's the exact environment I thrive and excel in. I'd rather fail than be constantly disrespected by people & a platform who I know aren't even 1/100th of what they appear to be.”

He also acknowledged in response to another user asking how he planned to overcome tech issues like limited bandwidth that this would be a concern if the new platform was to use Amazon Web Services.

Despite these clear hang-ups, many of the streamer’s fans reacted positively to the idea.

We'll keep you updated on whether Niknam does actually go through with this plan at some point in the future. We also have more coverage of the world of streaming and popular streamers like Ninja and Dr Disrespect.
