It's been nearly a decade since The Simpsons got a new video game. Last seen with 2012's Tapped Out, many have fond memories of Konami's arcade adaptation back in 1991, offering a critically acclaimed beat 'em up. Thanks to Arcade1Up, it's making a long awaited return.

With pre-orders going live on July 15, players can purchase The Simpsons Home Arcade Machine, offering the original adventure with a remote play option too, available via Wi-Fi. This celebrates the game's 30th anniversary, also including a mystery bonus game, which Arcade1Up will reveal later on..

Playing as Homer, Marge, Bart, and Lisa, the premise involved you taking on Springfield's wide cast of characters to rescue Maggie. While you can play alone, it also allowed for 4 player co-op, though we sadly don't have pricing details at this time.

It's a welcome return for a fan favourite, often considered one of the better adaptations alongside The Simpsons: Hit And Run. Further reveals have been promised by Arcade1UP across E3 2021, so we'll keep you updated as we learn more.
