Palworld continues to be one of the most talked about games, despite only coming out a few days ago, with many fans making the obvious comparison to Pokémon. Naturally, fans were curious about how The Pokémon Company would feel about this competitor but it looks like they don’t care.

A recent article from Bloomberg confirmed that both Nintendo and The Pokémon Company are aware of this indie game’s existence. While a Nintendo representative confirmed that they were aware of the game, The Pokémon Company didn’t even bother to leave a comment about it.

Despite a lot of fans hoping Palworld will instill some fear in The Pokémon Company, it seems like the multi-billion corporation doesn’t care. Even if the game’s success is worth touting, Pokémon is still one of the largest IPs around the world, so a competitor selling pretty well isn’t a huge deal to them.

Fans thought the company would care a bit more since there were accusations of plagiarism going around. Nothing has been confirmed yet but it seems like the in-game models were traced and simply added upon so they looked more “original.” At the time of writing, Pocket Pair, Inc. has only commented on the death threats they have received.

It seems gamers who want a true Pokémon alternative have chosen Palworld as the definitive one, even though numerous games have attempted this before. While the controversy surrounding this game is disappointing, there’s room for a successful creature-collecting competitor right now.

Most fans have been disappointed with the Pokémon games that have come out for the Switch generation, as they either play it too safe or are rushed to release. Although all of these games are still best sellers and will undoubtedly outsell Palworld, it’s easy to see why fans want an alternative.
