As the release of Tekken 8's January release gets ever-closer, Bandai Namco have taken to releasing character trailers to build up hype and show off its fighters' exciting new moves.

The latest trailer focuses on Kuma, one of the series' two iconic bear fighters. Fans have been quick to point out that the bear's moves and outfit closely resemble Heihachi's, prompting some to joke that the man must've loved and trained Kuma more than his own children.

The bear has plenty of powerful moves of his own, however. Dubbed the "Master of Salmon", Kuma is seen wielding a fish in several attacks. When he's not using his sharp teeth to chomp down on foes' heads, it seems players will be charging up paw swipes, charges, and uppercuts to inflict damage.

While the bear moves quite slowly, his moves more than make up for it with knockback and, presumably, raw damage. Kuma's ability to knock foes into the air with ease is sure to make him a favourite for players looking to 'juggle' their enemies in the air.

On Twitter, Tekken fans have been thrilled with the reveal. One finds it amusing that Kuma has been in every Tekken game to date, beating out some of the main cast. Another fan was simply thrilled that "The character designs in this game couldn’t be any better. They knocked it out of the park with almost every design!"

As far as his personality goes, Kuma's motivation seems to be winning the heart of the other iconic Tekken bear, Panda. His declaration of love goes over poorly, however - Panda is soon subjected to a smackdown, batted away with a salmon, and blown up by the very same salmon which can apparently transform into a heat seeking missile. Ouch.

Undeterred by the very real chance that Panda was killed (or given the 'ick') by the blast, Kuma happily declares that he is 'being married at last'. We can only hope that the rest of Heihachi's kids can control their jealousy and behave themselves at the wedding.
