Take-Two Is Launching a “New Gearbox Franchise” Before April 2022

Take-Two Is Launching a “New Gearbox Franchise” Before April 2022

While Gearbox was acquired by the Embracer Group earlier this year, Take-Two subsidiary 2K Games revealed this wouldn't change their relationship with Gearbox, confirming:

The merger does not change 2K’s relationship with Gearbox nor our role as the publisher for the Borderlands IP or any other projects we are currently working on with the studio. We look forward to continuing our long-term partnership with this incredibly talented team and delivering many more exciting entertainment experiences to gaming fans around the world.

Within the presentation, Take-Two also revealed that Borderlands 3 was “2K’s fastest selling title”, having shipped over 13 million copies since launch. As such, it's hardly surprising they're keen to continue this existing relationship, and we'll keep you informed as we learn more.
