Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League has been a sour talking point for fans, thanks to being another live-service game that doesn’t seem too special. While there’s a lot to be negative about, it’s to know that there are tributes for Batman actor Kevin Conroy and Arleen Sorkin, the original voice for Harley Quinn.
Culture Crave confirmed that there are memorials for Conroy and Sorkin, complete with logos of Batman and Harley Quinn respectively. At the least, Conroy was able to finish his work as Batman in this game, though it is a shame that players will fight him and maybe even kill him.
Having Conroy voice Batman in Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League is an appropriate move since this game is set in the Arkhamverse, for better or worse. While recent story leaks of the game have us weary about this connection, various insiders have claimed that there is more story content coming in future seasons.
Whatever happens, it is kind of disappointing that Conroy’s last Batman performance will be in this game, at least for now. It was confirmed that Conroy was able to reprise his role in Amazon’s upcoming Batman: Caped Crusader, so this game won’t be the last time we hear his iconic voice.
As for Arkeen Sorkin, she didn’t voice Harley Quinn in Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, as the character has been voiced by Tara Strong for many years now. Sorkin last played Harley in Batman: Arkham Asylum before retiring from the role and letting Strong carry the mantle.
This tribute to these Batman actors is nice, so it’s a shame that the game itself is shaping up to be a mess. Beyond leaks and live service, the recent Early Access period was pulled briefly because there was a bug that was automatically completing the game for people.
