For those who’ve invested thousands of hours into the likes of Skyrim and Fallout 4, the release of Starfield can’t come soon enough.

Regardless of how you feel about the prospects of Bethesda's venture into space, what you think its opening line might be or whether you like what it looks like in Far Cry 5, the idea of being able to delve into a freshly curated game filled with new quests, characters, and locations has RPG lovers of all stripes intrigued.

For folks already planning out what kind of character they’re going to create to travel across the galaxy as they eagerly await their invitation aboard an interstellar transport, a new creation that’s just hit the game’s subreddit might be worth taking a look at.

Will you be using one of these to sketch out your Starfield character in advance?

The thread containing this deep space-inspired document on the Starfield subreddit began with a post from its apparent designer, user PurpleCamel. They shared an image of a draft “Character Background Sheet” they’d put together, citing a similar form for Skyrim as inspiration in a separate comment.

“I would like to add the complete trait, skill, religion, and weapon descriptions once we get access to those. For now, I think this is pretty helpful,” they added in the same comment, while also sharing links to PDF and Google Sheets versions of the questionnaire and giving their fellow Starfield stans permission to make copies for their own use.

A number of these extraterrestrial enthusiasts seemed like they planned on taking up that offer, with user Morally_Obscene saying: “I love this. Might play around and think about characters for my first playthrough.” and another user adding: “I love (stuff) like this because it gets the creative juices flowing. Writing a background for a character is so fun!”

Others jokingly outlined the unorthodox ideas they planned to use to fill out the form’s fields, with user InToddWeTrust2023 declaring: “Okay. Name: Austin... Danger Powers. Sex: Yes, please!" and XenoXenoson asking: “Am I allowed to put 'YEEHAW' in every field?”
