Skyrim and the entire Elder Scrolls series are inspired by D&D since they are Western fantasy RPGs that gamers can’t stop playing. This is why a recent mod for the RPG is quite fitting, as it brings Icewind Dale from a 2000s D&D game to, well, Skyrim.

Called The Elder Scrolls V: Easthaven by its creator, this mod is based on the aforementioned Icewind Dale game that was made a long time ago. Fans can download this mod from Nexus Mods, which turns most of the areas into new renditions of Icewind Dale’s locations, making it a dream come true for D&D fans.

It’s not just the areas that this Skyrim mod changes, as the mod, also includes some of the classic D&D mechanics from Icewind Dale. PC Gamer confirms that various magical items will need to be identified to learn their properties. This mod will also require players to join a party to begin the main quest, which is probably the most D&D-like aspect added to the RPG.

Beyond that, players will also have new quests to take part in, new dungeons to explore, and several new weapons for players to use. That’s a ton of content in this RPG mod, which should make it an ideal experience for those who want this long-running game to feel more like D&D.

Keep in mind that Skyrim is already one of the busiest RPGs available, giving players hundreds of quests to participate in. Players don’t even have to take part in the main quest if they don’t want to, since there are much more interesting stories elsewhere. All of the freedom afforded in this RPG is why gamers were excited about Starfield in the first place, though that RPG seemed to fail where Skyrim succeeded.
