Skullgirls 2nd Encore - Umbrella Release Date, Black Dahlia Announcement, and Everything You Need To Know

Hidden Variable Studios has released a new Skullgirls trailer, detailing Umbrella's release. Acting as Skullgirls 2nd Encore's second DLC character, this showcased her moves and Hunger system.

Lastly, this new trailer also showed the third DLC character for the game, Black Dahlia. Here's what you need to know about these developments.

Skullgirls Umbrella Release Window

As announced during the CEO 2021 tournament, the developers revealed an Umbrella trailer, featuring some of her special moves. Armed with a monstrous and gluttonous umbrella sword, Umbrella enters the roster with plenty of hitgrabs and a unique Hunger system.

While it didn't provide a specific release date, she's joining the fight in "early 2022." We'll update you when we've learned more.

Third DLC Character Is Black Dahlia

After Umbrella's release window reveal, Hidden Variable Studios also confirmed that Black Dahlia will be Skullgirls 2nd Encore's next DLC character after Umbrella.

Who Are These Characters?

In the story, Umbrella and Black Dahlia are key side characters related to Skullgirls' playable cast. Umbrella is the younger sister of Parasoul, leader of the Black Egrets. In Parasoul's story, she goes through many lengths to protect Umbrella from becoming the Skullgirl.

Lastly, Black Dahlia is one of the best assassins in the Medici crime family. She's also the one who murdered Squiggly, putting a bullet in her head. Squiggly's death in the story happened 14 years ago, and Dahlia's speculated to be in her 50s or 60s. As for fighting style, she's seen holding firearms in her appearances and has a hidden blade in one of her legs.
