Warzone Players Slam Recent Sniper Rifle Buffs

Following the launch of the Warzone Season 4 Reloaded update, Raven Software applied another update that includes widespread changes to the sniper rifle category. In Season 3 of the Pacific era, the developer decided to implement significant nerfs in a bid to spice up the meta.

After spending time analysing the impact of the change, the latest dose of buffs and nerfs within the July 28 update include huge buffs to provide players with plenty of viable options when looking for a gun to deal plenty of long-range damage.

With players already on the hunt for the best Warzone guns, this change hasn’t struck a chord with some players who claim the developer hasn’t done enough to balance the best Warzone sniper rifle in Season 4 Reloaded.

Warzone Sniper Buffs Don't Do Enough

To prove the changes don’t go far enough, Reddit user “ibabyXD” claims the likes of the HDR and ZRG 20mm haven’t received a nerf. In addition, the user also says the buffs only provide certain snipers with a marginal increase in damage range.

To prove their point even further, the user mentions that the vast majority of Warzone assault rifles and SMGs feature a higher bullet velocity than sniper rifles, with some SMGs capable of dealing the same neck-shot damage as the LW3-Tundra sniper rifle from Black Ops Cold War.

Additionally, the player says “there should be no reason for snipers to not be able to headshot anymore” considering the immense power of ARs.

Those commenting agree, with one beginning to question whether it’s worth using sniper rifles at all when assault rifles perform better at longer distances. “What’s the point of using any sniper that isn’t a headshot sniper when you can’t kill someone on the same roof of POI as you?” questions the player.

With only a handful of snipers still capable of eliminating a target with a single shot to the head, it’s no surprise to see players expressing their frustrations once again.
