Persona 3 Reload has always been the most moody entry in the JRPG series and that couldn’t be made more clear than with the evokers, which the characters use to shoot themselves in the head to summon their Personas. While this remains the most divisive way to summon these Personas, they are iconic, which is why Atlus is now making replica evokers for fans to buy.

On the Japanese Persona account on Twitter, a brief look at these replica evokers was shown, with plans to show them at this month’s Wonder Festival. No actual release date for these items was revealed, showing that they might still be in early development, at least for now.

Now we do think it’s kind of weird to see the company make these items since, simply put, they look like guns. The imagery of these toons shooting themselves to summon Personas is a tad bit concerning, though it does remain in Persona 3 Reload. We do understand that this is an edgy way of telling people to live life to the fullest, a common theme associated with Persona 3, but player discretion will always be advised.

While all of the Persona games deal with mature themes, Persona 3 and the Reload remake tackle suicide and bullying in a major way. That’s not to say they handle it poorly, in fact, the games handle them quite well, but the imagery of these teens shooting themselves might be a bit much for some.

Regardless of political correctness, we can’t deny that the imagery of shooting yourself in the head to summon Personas does look cool. Many fans still say that this is the most iconic summoning in the series, with Persona 5 being a close second thanks to the also cool mask-ripping scenes. Persona 4’s summoning never really took off, though the game does make up for it with good characters and a fun Scooby Doo theme.
