Pandemic’s Being Removed From Sale, Though the Publisher Can’t Say Why


Publisher Asmodee Digital has delisted their digital board game Pandemic from Steam without any prior warning. Removed on January 6, 2022, its also been taken down from the App Store and Google Play.

No reason was officially given at the time of withdrawal, though Pandemic's also disappeared from Asmodee's official website. While it remains available for sale on Mthe Microsoft Store and Nintendo Switch eShop, it's being removed from there too on January 31st and July 2022 respectively.

Digital Board Game 'Pandemic' Pulled Out From Steam Without Announcements

So, why has this happened? It's likely down to licencing issues, though we couldn't say for certain. One player contacted Asmodee and received this response:

"We have worked hard over 4 years on Pandemic and withdrawing it from the stores has not been an easy choice. This decision was made with a heavy heart for a multitude of reasons that we cannot disclose.
For now, only PC, App Store & Google Play has been removed. Microsoft version will follow Jan 31th 2022 and then Nintendo Switch by the end of July 2022."

If you go onto Steam, Pandemic's page now says "At the request of the publisher, Pandemic: The Board Game is no longer available for sale on Steam." Make sure to follow us for more gaming news and updates as it happens.
