Fantasy enthusiasts explored New World last week through its closed beta, giving fans a glimpse of what the MMORPG has to offer.
And it seems like the world's largest retailer's forthcoming production is a massive hit with players, as the game has had an impressive showcase on Steam.
New World Tops Steam's Best Seller Chart
Developed by Amazon Games, New World overshadowed other titles on Steam's best sellers list last week.
As revealed by Daniel Ahmad, Senior Analyst at Niko Partners, New World took both 1st and 2nd spots on Steam's top sellers for the week ending on Sunday, August 1st:
New World also hit more than 200,000 concurrent players in its first 24 hours, which made it one of the most played games on Steam last week. It seems like users really gravitated towards the RPG, leading to New World's growth in sales.
Originally due to launch in May, the aforementioned RPG is set to release fully on August 31.
Offering PvP, instanced dungeons, expeditions, and a range of features set to be added post-launch, Amazon's Game Studios brand appears to have its first big hit.
