Amazon Delays New World One More Time

Amazon is delaying New World one more time. Weeks ahead of its planned August 31 release date, the studio announced it needs a few extra weeks to finish getting the game in order.

New World's new release date is September 28, though as with any game, that could change.

However, the latest New World delay isn't because of bugs or game-breaking problems. It's because so many people played the beta.

Amazon said more than 1 million people played the New World beta in its short run time, and the team is making several changes based on the feedback gathered during that period.

The beta ran smoothly enough for the most part, though there was certainly room for change.

Some quest bosses would go AWOL for hours at a time if another party defeated them before you arrived. Leveling up a few skills offered little reward for the extensive grind requird, and of course, there's always room to improve the overall player experience.

If you're new to Amazon's MMO, here's how the studio describes it:

Explore a thrilling, open-world MMO filled with danger and opportunity where you'll forge a new destiny for yourself as an adventurer shipwrecked on the supernatural island of Aeternum. Endless opportunities to fight, forage, and forge await you among the island's wilderness and ruins. Channel supernatural forces or wield deadly weapons in a classless, real-time combat system, and fight alone, with a small team, or in massed armies for PvE and PvP battles—the choices are all yours.
