The Call of Duty franchise is no stranger to releasing all kinds of cosmetic bundles containing a huge variety of Modern Warfare 2 Operator skins, weapon blueprints, and other ways for players to customise their in-game appearance.

With the start of Season 3 Reloaded on the horizon, Activision continues to release new bundles into the store. Ranging from Easter Bunny skins to bundles for each Call of Duty League team, there’s plenty to choose from.

Despite the variety, eagle-eyed players have spotted that one particular bundle is a complete reskin of items from a previous Call of Duty release much to their annoyance.

Modern Warfare 2 Dr Kushlov bundle isn't new at all

After Reddit user Kaaaaos uploaded a photo of the bundle, members of the community were quick to point out that the majority of content is exactly the same as the Dr Kushlov bundle from 2019’s Modern Warfare.

As expected, fans aren’t best pleased with the discovery. “It’s pretty crazy how much stuff is being taken from the last MW game and being resold to people,” comments one disgruntled player.

On the other hand, reusing content to generate revenue isn’t anything new in the Call of Duty world. “Makes sense why they didn’t carry over previous bundles, right?” replies another user revealing why Activision didn’t allow players to transfer their bundles from one game to another.

The main similarity involves the Kastov 762 weapon blueprint. Rather than a completely new design, the design on the body of the gun shares the same pattern as the Resonant blueprint from Modern Warfare 2019.

Ultimately, the goal of Activision is to make as much money as possible through micro-transactions and if it means reusing existing assets, the publisher will use it to their advantage. Expect fewer original designs and more reused assets for the remainder of the Modern Warfare 2 cycle.
