The selection of maps available in Modern Warfare 2 often causes plenty of debate among players. Throughout the cycle, fans have seen numerous battlefields from previous Call of Duty titles make a return in addition to a new arrival in the form of Himmelmatt Expo.
With the launch of Season Three moving into view, Infinity Ward is starting to tease some of the new content making its way to multiplayer. Following the arrival of Expo, another map is on its way to the ever-expanding collection.
Rather than a completely new design, eagle-eyed fans have spotted that the map is in fact an iconic arena from 2009’s Modern Warfare 2.
Estate returning in Modern Warfare 2
During a reveal showcasing the return of an iconic sniper rifle, eagle-eyed Reddit user AirDizzyy noticed the interior of one particular building that looks extremely familiar to Call of Duty fans.
“Looks a lot like the inside of the house from Estate in MW2,” claims the user. Upon closer inspection, it appears they’re correct. “Yup, looks exactly like the interior from Estate,” confirms another fan.
Estate joins the likes of Shoot House and Shipment as another map from a previous Modern Warfare title to appear in 2022’s Modern Warfare 2. Now known as Pelayo’s Lighthouse, the map is another six-versus-six arena for players to drop into. This alongside the arrival of new weaponry is hugely exciting for those hoping for an injection of a breath of fresh air.
