Throughout Call of Duty history, some iconic weapons have transcended the franchise thanks to their incredible firepower. Whether it’s a fast-firing assault rifle or a sniper often seen spinning from a rooftop, there are some guns players want to return.

With Season One Reloaded featuring an assault rifle that heavily resembles the Honey Badger from Call of Duty Ghosts, the thought of your favourite guns returning in Modern Warfare 2 multiplayer isn’t a dream.

With so many guns to choose from, some players are discussing which classic Modern Warfare weapons they want to make a comeback.

Classic weapons that should return in Modern Warfare 2

Reddit user “Sensitive-Pay2990” kicks off the conversation by suggesting the return of the G36C assault rifle from Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare alongside the Barrett .50 Cal sniper rifle.

Alongside these heavily underrated weapons, they also hope Infinity Ward plans on bringing weapons from 2009’s Modern Warfare 2 and Modern Warfare 3 into the ever-expanding arsenal.

Other suggestions include the compact PP90M1 submachine gun, the TAR-21 AR, and the iconic UMP 45 from the original MW2. One commenter shares their appreciation for one hugely popular AR. “I’ve never loved any gun the way I loved the OG MW2 ACR.” Having spent several hours armed with the ACR, I have to agree.

The idea of classic guns returning to Modern Warfare 2 sounds like a good idea but when fans have paid a lot of money for a brand-new game with new guns and maps to use, is recycling content the best course of action?
