Since it featured in May’s PlayStation Showcase, Marvel fans have been itching to see more of what Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 has to offer.

After all, you can only comb through the clips from that broadcast before you start to lose interest. Even if you're still trying to decide whether the game's HUD is too cluttered or are hyped up about a potential boss battle with symbiote Peter Parker.

Thankfully, a fresh trailer for the game has just been released teasing the story players can expect to delve into on October 20. Surprisingly, however, the aspect of it that’s got fans talking is the updated appearances of some key characters.

What do you think of the latest trailer for Marvel’s Spider-Man 2?

Since the release of the trailer, a post to the subreddit r/SpidermanPS4 by user dracojspn, which shows the revised faces of Miles Morales, Peter Parker and Mary Jane, alongside their models from the first game in the series, has taken off.

Many of the fans that have responded to the post are pretty happy with the changes that have been made.

“Peter looks 100% better. I hated the v2 face model, but this is a much better version of it,” user lost_in_trepidation declared, while WookieeCookiee01 mused: “Man, I'm so glad they changed MJ's model. Her old face seems so plastic and lifeless to me. Her new face looks like an actual person.”

On the other hand, the main sticking point among those who don’t like the models as much seems to be how old both Peter and Mary Jane arguably look, with some suggesting the latter appears significantly less youthful than her co-stars.

“You try living in that shitty, supervillain-infested version of NYC (and still paying that much for rent, and her place probably doesn’t even have on-site laundry) and see how you look,” joked user ImperatorRomanum in response to one such comment.

Meanwhile, some have brought up other issues, such as user NotSloth1204, who declared: “I have nothing against any of the faces, but it’s getting annoying seeing faces change (in games). It’s like watching a movie franchise and every new instalment they recast the actors and no one says anything.”

Regardless of what you think of this latest trailer for Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, make sure to follow us for plenty of updates on the game as its release inches closer.
