A third person open-world action RPG mixing tight combat mechanics with literally hundreds of hours of gameplay. A title that melds Dragon's Dogma and Skyrim with excellent storytelling and a boldness in delivering unique experiences to each player at a level unmatched by almost any other RPG, The Witcher is arguably the most exciting launch of the first half of 2015. Expect excellence.

Axiom Verge is the perfect reminder of titles like Metroid, Castlevania, and Contra. Currently available on consoles, the title is critically acclaimed as a superbly challenging side scrolling action-adventure with bucketloads of replayability. It was all developed by one man, too - Tom Happ. If you're at all a fan of this type of game, Axiom Verge deserves your attention.

Wolfenstein: The Old Blood

Wolfenstein: The Old Blood is a budget release, costing £15 at retail and acting as a standalone expansion to 2014's The New Order (in much a similar fashion as Blood Dragon to Far Cry 3). A call-back to old school FPS games, it'll definitely pique the interest of those looking for a solid single player shooter experience.
