Skybound Entertainment has announced the development of a new AAA Invincible title, with a crowdfunding page set up and over $440k already accrued.

Fans have the opportunity to pledge a minimum of $100 to become investors in the project, with Skybound revealing that the company raised over $18 million from "everyday investors and fans via Republic/Seedrs" previously and is looking to add an extra $5 million.

Those who decide to invest the minimum amount of $100 will be essentially investing in Skybound Holdings LLC, PR and Equity crowdfunding strategist Hannah Crosgrove explained.

According to Skybound, the studio has over 30 employees with experience working for the likes of Activision Blizzard, Electronic Arts, Epic Games, and more. These members are the core of their in-house studio, which will develop the Invincible game without third-party contributions to ensure it stays true to the vision of series creator Robert Kirkman.

Key members of the staff include the newly appointed Head of Games Publishing, Chris Paulson (formerly of Activision Blizzard), and EVP of Games Production, Patrick Gilmore (formerly of Amazon Games).

As for the actual game, Skybound wants it to be a bloody, high-octane action game, with "stunning game and character design." Naturally, more specific details were not revealed as the scale of the game will likely be impacted by how successful this round of crowdfunding ends up being.

The crowdfunding page for Skybound will remain active until April 30 or until the company reaches its $5 million funding goal. Given the immense success of season 2 of the animated series Invincible, as well as recent collaborations with popular titles like Fortnite and Mortal Kombat, it appears that reaching the target amount is only a matter of time.
