New Ghostbusters Game Is in Production With Friday the 13th Developers

Ghostbusters is gearing up for a return to the big screen next month with Ghostbusters: Afterlife, but it seems that isn't all. According to new reports, the franchise's return is expanding into gaming too.

As mentioned during a podcast episode of Questlove Supreme, IllFonic's co-founder, Raphael Saadiq, casually announced that they are working on a Ghostbusters videogame.

A Ghostbusters Game Is Being Developed By Friday The 13th Devs

Best known for developing Friday the 13th and Predator: Hunting Grounds, IllFonic is now adapting another iconic franchise. Saadiq implied that after finishing their upcoming multiplayer shooter, Arcadegeddon, they've been hard at work on their new Ghostbusters game:

Friday the 13th, the last one, and Predator, and we're working on Ghostbusters right now and Arcadegeddon is out right now.

No details were given on the game itself. But given IllFonic's previous work in co-op multiplayer, alongside both PvE and PvP, we can reasonably speculate that Ghostbusters will incorporate similar features, more so than a single-player campaign.

While the supernatural franchise has received a number of gaming iterations in the past, its most recent outing was 2019's remaster of Ghostbusters: The Video Game. We will inform you when we receive more news on the upcoming title.
