Fortnite becoming the king of crossovers is an understatement at this point, with more high-profile franchises joining in 2024 if leaks are to be believed - Devil May Cry and Avatar.

As 2023 was inching to an end, known Fortnite leakers such as HYPEX broke some exciting news, stating that a reliable source (XboxEra) mentioned that Capcom's Devil May Cry and James Cameron's Avatar (sorry to everyone who wanted Aang) are two big crossovers rumoured to be coming to the battle royale soon.

According to HYPEX, XboxEra previously leaked the TMNT and Doom collaborations, both coming to fruition this year, with the former hitting the Fortnite item shop not too long ago and the latter being part of the Chapter 4 Season 1 battle pass.

Epic Games has a long-standing relationship with Capcom, making the Devil May Cry crossover a very possible reality. Iconic franchises such as Resident Evil and Street Fighter have made it to the battle royale already, with characters like Jill Valentine, Leon S. Kenney, Ryu, Guile, and the ever-popular Chun-Li being a part of Epic's ambitious crossover.

As for striking a deal to have Na'vi roaming around the Fortnite island, Epic might have to convince Ubisoft, since they hold the rights for any videogame adaptations based on James Cameron's IP since 2007, recently releasing the open-world Frontiers of Pandora.

Avatar? In my Fortnite!?

Given the success of Avatar 2, it seems like a logical move to collaborate with Fortnite to further cement its place in pop culture. This is especially true considering that James Cameron plans to release numerous sequels, with a concrete plan that would allegedly end in 2031.

As for which skins could make it as part of each crossover, there are some obvious standouts. For DMC, it's basically a given that Dante would be the main outfit as part of the initial bundle, possibly alongside Nero, one of the co-protagonists of the most recent game in the franchise, Devil May Cry 5.

As for Avatar, they could go for the movie protagonists such as Jake Sully or Neytiri, or even go with the Frontiers of Pandora route, giving players a clean slate with a bit more customisation than your regular Fortnite skin, offering them the chance to create their own Na'vi.
