PornHub's most searched videogame characters of 2023 list includes Sonic, Mario, and Chun-Li from Fortnite

Adult site PornHub shared their 2023 Year in Review, giving us a glimpse at what video game fans usually enjoy during their free time, outside of gaming that is.

It's a tradition at this point, just like Spotify's Wrapped or PlayStation's Wrap Up, every big company likes to share some insights into how users interacted with their platforms, with PornHub having an entire section dedicated to video game searches.

It shouldn't come as a surprise that perennial gaming icon Chun-Li tops the list of most searched video game characters on the site during 2023. After all, Capcom released Street Fighter 6 to massive critical and commercial success.

Her inclusion on the list, however, is an odd one. It isn't Street Fighter fans that want to experience a different side of the veteran fighter, it's the Fortnite players, as PornHub explained most of the searches tied to the character include the battle royale as a secondary term.

In fact, Fortnite was the most searched video game on PornHub in 2023, retaining its throne for the third year in a row, topping Overwatch which similarly remained the runner-up for its third consecutive year.

While people seem to be really into the Fortnite Chun-Li skin, the release of Street Fighter 6 definitely gave her a massive boost in popularity, as she escalated a total of 10 spots compared to last year, dethroning Overwatch character D.Va, who fell to the third spot.

Completing the podium is Final Fantasy VII's Tifa Lockheart, who climbed 18 spots thanks greatly to the upcoming release of FFVII Rebirth.

The list of characters does have some bizarre inclusions. Sonic The Hedgehog, the charming, chilli-dog-loving speedster came sixth, flanked by Resident Evil's Lady Dimitrescu (fifth) and Ada Wong (seventh).

Mario, Nintendo's mascot and one of the most wholesome gaming characters ever to grace the industry, was the eighth most searched video game character on PornHub. Truly, nothing is sacred anymore.
