Dead by Daylight's newest killer has been officially revealed. Killer doll Chucky will make his way into the game as the star of Chapter 30 on November 28, 2023.

In an announcement trailer posted to YouTube, viewers were treated to an atmospheric cinematic that subtly hints at upcoming mechanics. 34 seconds in, the doll is seen running underneath a pallet, while Chucky's constant giggling may hint at a non-standard terror radius.

We've previously seen tiny killers in the game, with one half of The Twins being a child-sized murder machine. IGN has shared some gameplay details that revealed Charles Lee Ray will be assisting his doll counterpart in a spirit form. Screenshots appear to show Chucky gameplay in third person, a stark departure from the usual first-person-only killer gameplay.

Players will likely be able to swap between Charles and Chucky at will, so survivors are in for a challenge - assuming they aren't allowed to simply kick Chucky away. There's no clues as to who will join Chucky as a survivor, despite plenty of movies to draw inspiration from. Chapter 30 may be a smaller (and hopefully cheaper) chapter that's more killer-focused, as we've seen previously with Leatherface and Pinhead. A slightly modified Mount Ormond map is seen in the trailer, too, but it's impossible to say if this is being added to the game.

We were hopeful that the foul-mouthed doll would be fully voice acted, and it seems our prayers to Damballa were heard. Brad Dourif is reprising his role, following up the brutal stabbing in the trailer with an expletive-laden one liner. Developers Behaviour Interactive have also confirmed a cosmetic for Chucky that transforms him into the Bride of Chucky, Tiffany Valentine. She'll be voiced by Jennifer Tilly herself.

Many fans will be wondering how the tiny doll can carry survivors around and throw them onto the game's iconic hooks, but stranger things have quite literally been seen in the fog. PC players will get to play as Chucky in the upcoming public test build, and everyone else will get to possess the doll just in time for Christmas. For now, season 3 of the Chucky TV show has recently released, so there's no better time to be a Child's Play fan.
