Dark Souls 3 Gets 60 FPS Boost On Xbox Series X|S

While recent focus has mostly shifted to Elden Ring, Microsoft's just confirmed a new title will receive FPS Boost support on Xbox Series X|S. Joining a wide series of games, including several from EA and Bethesda, Bandai Namco's Dark Souls 3 is now being fully supported, bringing it up to 60FPS.

That follows an early reveal last night, where an Instagram Story post from Xbox Italia confirmed Dark Souls 3 hours beforehand. Speaking about this on Twitter, Xbox's director of program management, Jason Ronald, advised this one required a "brand new technique" to achieve 60 FPS on Xbox Series.

While Ronald didn't specify what that technique is, Digital Foundry has already analysed Dark Souls 3's FPS Boost, confirming that it runs at a "near-perfect" 60fps, while retaining the original 900p resolution on both Xbox Series consoles.

So far, we've not received word of any other games getting FPS Boost support this time around. Support has been rather sporadic and though more games are likely coming, which ones remain speculative. We'll keep you in the loop as we know more.
